≈Welcome, and salam alaykum. My name is JJ. Richard-Grimardé.
I live on the unceded, un-surrendered, traditional land of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle-Island. In the so-called country of "Canada".
I am simply a human that is all for love. I only strive to be a kindhearted giving person, and that is the motivation for helping others in need. There is too much greed in the world, but I believe together, with enough love, we can all equally succeed and thrive in this inherently intrinsic-connected world. It is the only option. There is enough room and safe space for every body if we all simply choose to live #All4Luv.
Just as there are many people in desperate need in the countries you hear about on social media, and some news channels, there are people in need in countries that seldom make the headlines. In those other countries, GoFundMe, PayPal, and other fund collection websites/organizations/apps accounts, are also not available to those who could really use it if they need help.
One of those places is The Gambia. There are many there who suffer from food insecurity and other adversities that significantly hinder their life from being one of autonomy, dignity, basic decency, and of thriving successes. Something that some of us too often take for granted in our own privileged lives, especially in countries like Canada.
Musa Waggeh and his family are some of these people, and he asked me to make a GoFundMe to help them with basic needs, such as food. The following is the story he would like to share:
≈I’m Musa living with my 4 siblings and grandmother, We lost our able father through corona virus and last year, we lost our loving mother. After the death of our mother, life started showing us its worst version.
We go days without having proper meals. We hardly have food. Sometimes I go to our neighbors to beg them for food but often we don’t get any.
Our parents were low-income earners; all that they made, was used to pay rent, and they used the remaining money to buy food. Unfortunately, we didn’t inherit any financial assistance from our parents
I was lucky to inherit a phone from my mom. I tried selling it so that we could get food, but no one wants to buy it since its screen cracked and it has some faults.
After several months of hardship, hunger and pain, I came up with the idea of reaching out to people and explain to them how bad my siblings and I are living,
As the Bible states, we have to help each other through hardships.
I know that you are a kindhearted person and I know you will try your efforts and support us with something, even a little please.≈
The donations collected through this campaign will be collected in a separate dedicated bank account. And it will be sent to Musa through Remitly services. Please consider donating even $5; every bit helps.≈
