Donate to help my good friend Alan Evans.

I would be so grateful if you could donate or share this post. My name is Susan Mitzman, and I am fundraising for my very good friend, Alan Evans. Alan was involved in a very nasty motorbike accident 3 months ago and remains in hospital. He has had 5 surgeries and will continue to need more - as well as long-term rehabilitation in his home. Alan's pelvis was completely shattered in the accident and he is fighting long-term pelvic infections which are proving difficult to treat. Alan is also attempting to regain use of his bowels and urinary systems - and he will also have to learn to walk again. In the next few months, Alan will be discharged back into his home where he will be receiving some support and social care. Unfortunately, Alan has lost his job (he had begun a new job 6 weeks prior to his accident) and due to previous emotional and mental health difficulties his house has been neglected for many years e.g. damp, holes in the floor, no working fridge, heating or oven, unsafe electrical wiring and no downstairs toilet, all of which he will need access to on discharge. I am hoping that any funding that is raised will help towards providing help with making his house more suitable for rehabilitation - as it is expected that his recovery will be very lengthy, and he will not be able to work until well into the future. Currently, the most urgently needed item is an orthopaedic reclining chair.
