Hello, my name is Carlee! I am a registered nurse planning on going to Uganda this summer for an ophthalmic medical trip! This trip will focus mainly on cataract surgery, working with the local community of Rakai Town. While in Uganda, we hope to treat over 200 patients in five days. To make this trip possible, I have to fundraise money to cover medical supplies, vaccinations, travel expenses, and personal/medical equipment.

I have worked at an ophthalmic ASC for about 3 years. Working within my own community and treating blindness at home is rewarding in itself, but taking my knowledge to a place where healthcare access is so limited, will have lasting effects on my nursing career!
