Help Our Community Woodland Project

The project has been established to conserve this ancient woodland by improving its biodiversity. Graig Wood is a community interest company (CIC) and run by volunteers and funded entirely on donations.

We aim to remove any non-native invasive species, thinning out the canopy and continuing the traditional management technique of coppicing.

This will allow more light will reach the woodland floor, and in turn, increase the natural regeneration and seed germination of native trees, shrubs, and wild flowers.

We encourage all members of the community to come together and learn woodland skills, craft, and the importance of sustainability. You'll have the chance to relax by the fire with tea and conversation and immerse yourself in nature.

We are raising funds to kickstart this project, specifically:
