Help Peter and Melanie Rebuild Their Dream!

Hello Everyone !

My Name is Derrick, proud son of Peter and Melanie (Venasse). Ever since I could remember, my parents spoke of their retirement dream of owning a property in Florida. I got a front row seat to watching them work (tirelessly) towards this goal for many, many years.

Last month Helene, a category 4 hurricane, almost destroyed this important piece of my parents life. Their Florida home was under 4 feet of water and since it only has one floor, the damage was great. Seeing all my parent possessions in a garbage pile, their floors and walls damaged, their vehicles destroyed has been difficult.

My parents, like always, are showing resilience and determination to rebuild. No surprise though that this will come with significant cost. My parents are proud and hardworking, any contribution of assistance would be appreciated beyond words. A brief list of challenges faced:

All Furniture lost

All Appliances lost

Electrical and plumbing repairs

Clothes and possessions lost

All floors require replacing

All walls require new drywall up to 30 inches

Thorough cleaning and mold removal

Full kitchen and bathroom rebuild

2x vehicles lost

(For those who have inquired, I can confirm that insurance for such 'acts of god' is quite expensive down in Florida. My parents unfortunately did not have coverage. All items listed above will be paid for out of pocket. We thank you for asking!)

My parents are already down in Florida to begin what work they can. They have also been assisting their elderly neighbors in restoring power, water, and planning their rebuilds. With them passionately helping others as they always do, please consider giving them a hand as well.
