Donate to help prisoners who needs urgent help!

We are Foreign Prisoners Network, an organization that helps foreign prisoners who are under extreme circumstances held in pre-trial long remand in Mauritius.

Today, we are raising 100.000 GBP for 75 Foreigners who are currently been held in long remand pre-trial detention in Mauritius up to 8 years without a case to be lodged.

The prison system of Mauritius is wellknown for extreme long remands without any form of trial. The foreign detainees are all detained in the High-Security Prison System of Melrose under extremely difficult circumstances.

The only place where they held foreigners separated from the community! There is no daily program and even education is forbidden by the prison commissioner.

There is no toilet paper allowed to use and even warm water is not provided. There is no healthy food program and there is no cantine facility beside jam, cheese and butter. These products are of a bad quality especially the butter and cheese which can not been stored in a fridge to keep cooled.

Today, we are trying to finance lawyers to urgently help increase the human rights position of the foreign detainees. The unfair trials needs finance to hire lawyers specialized in human rights.

As Mauritius has signed several Human Rights agreements with Amnesty International, The United Nations for Human Rights and Treaties and the African Commission of Human Rights, we are fighting to get the International community awared of this situation and to help all the families back home who are waiting for periods up to 8 years as well without any case to be lodged.
