Help Queensland Koala Society recover from Cyclone Alfred

Donation protected
Ex- Tropical Cyclone Alfred certainly made an impact at Queensland Koala Society - and not a good one. They are now out of pocket over $9,450 dealing with the aftermath and do not receive any government funding or support.

They have an array of animals in care at the moment and the public are dropping off more animals and QKS were still rescuing and transporting koalas throughout the cyclone. Animals still needed to be fed and Brisbane City Council leaf was unavailable - Queensland Koala Society had to drive over an hour in the cyclone to cut leaf to feed the koalas in care everyday.

Most of the animals need to bought inside to stay safe and dry fearing a tree would fall on one of the enclosures. Luckily and thankfully no animals lost their lives at Chandler due to the cyclone, although they did lose enclosures & canopies/shade structures.

Due to the extreme weather they have a number of trees & limbs down at their Chandler rehabilitation centre which now require costly tree lopping services. They also had to purchase a generator to deal with the ongoing power outages, koala rehabilitation needs do not stop when the power goes out.

Seeking urgent donations for the recovery and reimbursement from the Cyclone and so they can continue caring for our endangered koalas - please give anything you can. Please share far and wide.
