No one fights cancer alone.. Rebekah's Fight

Donation protected
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for your incredible generosity and support during our fundraising campaign for Rebekah's medical expenses. Your kindness has touched our hearts in ways we cannot express in words.

Due to the tremendous outpouring of support from our amazing community, we have decided to put our fundraising efforts on hold. Your contributions have exceeded our wildest expectations and we are deeply moved by your willingness to help during this challenging time.

Please know that your donations have and will make a significant difference in this family's journey towards better health. Your compassion and generosity are a source of strength for the Southard family; they feel truly blessed and humbled to have such amazing people in their lives.

We will keep you posted on Rebekah's progress, and we look forward to sharing positive news with you in the future. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for this family during their time of need.

Rebekah's journey is far from over and she will continue to have medication expenses that far exceed what any family could possibly afford. Your generosity has helped make ongoing treatment efforts possible. We will re-evaluate this family's need in 2024 to see if additional assistance is needed. Thank you again for all of your amazing support.

With immense gratitude and warmest regards,

Megan DeGroote

Original campaign intro:

Hi, my name is Megan DeGroote and I am helping to raise money to offset medical and related expenses for one of the most caring and sweet people I know. Rebekah, a 44-year-old mother of two young children, is fighting a rare bone marrow cancer known as myelofibrosis. In the coming weeks, she will undergo a stem cell transplant and will spend one month in the hospital. She will be off work for 6-12 months as she recovers. You can follow her journey on Caring Bridge.

She will spend at least two additional months away from her home and family so she can live close to her treatment facility while her immune system begins to recover. She will undergo chemotherapy and full-body radiation to prepare her for the procedure. She will be on costly, long-term medications to prevent rejection of the transplanted cells.

This family has lived in a season of giving for many years and is the first to help those in need. Now in this new battle, they are entering a season of receiving. While they would be the last to ask, I am asking on their behalf to help this wonderful family. If this cause doesn't resonate with you or you simply can't afford to give, please share, pray, or do another random act of kindness for anyone who crosses your path. Thank you for your time and consideration.

*Please note that Caring Bridge will likely prompt you to give funds to cover Rebekah's page or a page for others who are on a similar journey. Funds have been donated to cover Rebekah's page. Giving is never an expectation. We are so thankful to anyone who has given to any cause or person in need no matter how much or the type of gift.
