For the past three years, Reverend Christin Green has lovingly served as an exceptionally impactful Assistant Minister for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF). Recently, the UUCF Board announced some very difficult staff restructuring decisions, which sadly included eliminating Rev. Christin’s position.
In the wake of that announcement, many, many members of the congregation have expressed a deep sense of caring for her and even grief over the loss of all that Rev. Christin has faithfully and consistently brought to all of us throughout her time with our community. In serving UUCF spiritually, materially, and practically, she has truly given her heart and soul to supporting both individuals and the UUCF community as a whole.
This GoFundMe project has been set up to show appreciation to Rev. Christin in the form of direct financial support and the associated gift of time, to ease her transition and freely explore and choose her best next opportunity.
Her leadership, kindness and tireless coordination of programs and operations have directly supported individual congregants as well as the community. Some of her significant contributions include:
- inspiring sermons on a variety of topics that touched us and gave us hope; leading the Covenant Group activity;
- nurturing the Pastoral Care Team and through the PCT as well as separately providing very needed care to our community;
- leading the special Blue Christmas and Healing services; and
- championing racial justice and other initiatives.
No doubt many other contributions will be remembered too.
