Donate to help Sammy Torres & Betsy Vargas

It is with a hopeful heart that I write to request your donation for the treatment of Sammy Torres' wife, Betsy Vargas, who was diagnosed with stage 4 (most advanced stage of stomach, liver) cancer several weeks ago. She has already gone through a major procedure of removing a tumor in her stomach but will begin chemotherapy over the coming weeks as cancer spread to other organs.

 

If you haven't met Sammy yet, he's been the face of 255 Hudson since the building's opening almost 20 years ago. He is integral to the building's everyday function and if you've been at 255 long enough, you know how grateful you are to have Sammy working here.

 

Sammy's family has flown up from Florida to provide assistance for Hudson, their 3 year old son, while Sammy continues to work at 255 Hudson when possible. But right now his work schedule isn't sustainable and he needs to be home with Betsy while she starts her treatment. Sammy is only covered at 255 Hudson for a couple more weeks of PTO and without coming into work, they will not be able to afford the medical, daycare, and other living expenses. 

 

I am strongly convinced that his family at 255 Hudson will come to their aid and help Betsy Vargas kick back to life while providing an opportunity for Sammy to be at Betsy's side during her chemo sessions. She has her whole life ahead of her and whatever support we can provide would go a long way for Betsy, Sammy, & Hudson.
