Donate to help Sara take on Thyroid Cancer

Hello, my name is Dani, and I’m fundraising on behalf of Sara, my best friend of almost 3 decades, who was recently diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Anyone who knows her can attest to the fact that Sara is someone who is constantly putting the needs of others before her own, but is pretty stubborn when it comes to asking others for help for herself, even when she needs it most. There can be an overwhelming number of unknowns and scary parts of dealing with a cancer diagnosis, but Sara’s first concern was the monetary aspect of it and the burden it could have on her family.

Currently, her husband Matt is back in school full-time studying Front End Engineering while Sara continues to work as a travel nurse recruiter. They are lucky to have insurance, but unfortunately, it will only cover so much, and anything medical tends to add up quickly and insurmountably. Sara is being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy and a seemingly never-ending list of appointments, ultrasounds, scans and more over the next couple months.

Sara has always been a planner, but even moreso since becoming a mother to the cutest almost-2-yr old you’ve ever seen, Reese. Unfortunately though, cancer is not something anyone can plan for, and it can turn anyone’s world upside down. Since hearing this life-altering news, Sara has been focusing on her family and her health, never wanting to be a burden to anyone else. If you feel it in your heart to donate, any amount would go such a long way to Sara’s peace of mind and make a world of difference towards her medical expenses.
