Donate to Help Save Homeless Joe

Hi my name is Charlotte and along with my very dedicated team of volunteers (Gary Coulson, Donna Sutter and Jocelyn Schaefer) we are fundraising for our friend Joe.

Joe is a senior who we found living in his car in December 2023 with his two dogs. In the bitter cold, we feared for Joe's life and moved him from living in his vehicle to an AirBnB and, most recently, to a hotel.

We were supported early on through some generous community donations, but due to adversity and the cost of living, we are now out of pocket and seeking assistance to keep Joe from living back on the streets.

We have contacted the Region of Waterloo, but as you know, the homeless crisis is alive and well in our region, and despite trying to fast-track Joe through, there can be as long as a 10+ year wait to get into subsidized housing.

Our crew of 4 incredible volunteers have been Joe's lifeline over the past few months, and we are happy to say with our support, Joe is slowly but surely getting back on his feet. This will be a marathon, not a sprint, and we are committed to seeing him the whole way through.

Your generous support will help us to keep Joe out of temporary shelter and off the street. It will provide food hampers, cover medical expenses and most importantly will contribute to shelter costs while we work to find Joe a permanent place to call home.
