Donate to help save my Mom's life

Hi, I am Danilyn Smith, and I am starting this fundraising for my mother, Elena Marcos Barbero, who lives in the Philippines. September of last year, when she started feeling bloated, pain in her upper right just below her rib cage, and her mouth tasted like metal which made her lose her appetite. The symptoms were off and on, so she decided to go to a family doctor in our province. The doctor ordered tests such as abdominal ultrasound, which showed multiple lumps in my mom's liver. The result was unclear enough to explain, so the doctor ordered another CT scan test. Our province is not equipped with some medical technologies, so my Mom and my sister had to ride a tricycle for 4 hours to another region to get it done. Before the procedure, they had to check her creatinine level, which meant another testing, another expense. From the CT scan result, they found out that there was a big mass and some liquid-filled sacs around it, which made the doctor order another test which is a liver needle biopsy. She had the biopsy done last march 14, 2022, and after four weeks of waiting, the result came out that she has Hepatocellular Carcinoma with clear cell features. Since the beginning of this journey, My husband and I were the only ones sending all the financial help since my mom doesn't have any insurance (Most Filipinos don't), and we have been emotionally and financially drained. We couldn't think of any other way to help out with the upcoming expenses when she starts treatments.

This fundraising is essential to me because it will help us with the costs, and that means if my mom gets the treatment, she'll get well, and we get to spend more time with her. We need her in our lives, and we can't afford to lose her.

The funds that will be collected will be used for Immunotherapy treatment which costs P150,000( $3000) every three weeks. Any excess amount will be used for other medical-related fees. Attached herewith is a copy of the diagnosis.
