My name is Katie and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of one of my best friends, Naomi, to help raise money for the massive medical expenses she’s facing to save her rescue dog, Nelson. Anyone who knows Naomi knows how much she loves Nelson and that she would do anything for him!

Nelson has been in the hospital for the last several days and has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that is attacking his red blood cells and liver. From her most recent update, Nelson isn't doing very well. His body is producing an excessive amount of bilirubin, which is a byproduct produced by the liver when red blood cells are broken down, which is making him extremely sick. He hasn't eaten in a week and still is refusing food, so they're placing a feeding tube in hopes that some nutrients will be helpful.

So far, Naomi has spent over $10,000 on various medical procedures, and this is just the start of his treatment. Anything you can offer will help immensely and mean the world to Naomi and Nelson. Thank you all for your support!
