Hi, my name is Mercuri and this fundraiser is for vet bills to help my cat, Pookie.

His story: Pookie was abandoned along with his 7 other siblings. His parents were barn cats and he was found very malnourished, likely due to the size of his litter and the reality of living outdoors. In this past week, he has gone to his primary vet twice and to an emergency/specialty vet twice, so his bills have added up very quickly.

Currently: Being estimated to be only 6wks old, he needs around the clock care, such as strict feeding schedule every 2-3hrs based on his weight. He has made a lot of great progress in the past few days alone and is approaching a healthy weight. He has energy to play, eat, and frequently beg to be held and spend time with his new family. He is incredibly sweet and has a strong will to live.

Unfortunately, a big roadblock now is that his kidneys are swollen, which is extremely dangerous (especially for his age) and signs of a more serious condition that will require more diagnostics and higher levels of care. This includes ultrasounds of his kidneys and lab testing.

I have already spent upwards of $1300+ for his care, including every vet visit (one of them being earlier today, 10/22) as well as buying his necessities such as kitten milk replacer, wet food, medication etc. He is in a critical moment in his life and needs all the help that he can get. Each of his veterinarians have been thankful that someone was willing to give him a chance, as it's clear he wants to get better, but the financial burden is heavy for one person.
