Our lovely friend Shannon was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in November 2021. Since then she has undergone 2 surgeries already.

Shannon has just started a new job in November as well where she doesn’t have benefits yet. Thankfully all her chemo treatments and medicine will be covered by her husband Dennis through his extended health benefits, which is great news!!

However, with four separate appointments coming up in Kelowna for consults and radiation therapy, the costs go up substantially and with Shannon having to take so much time off work they will have to rely on a single household income for herself, husband and teenage boy to live on.

While in Kelowna Shannon will have to spend three weeks at the Cancer Lodge or a hotel if the lodge is full, where travel and lodging are NOT covered in any of Dennis’s extended health care.

With all this, we are hoping we can raise some money for them to help with bills. It’s stressful enough thinking about the treatments and therapies. Let’s try to ease their minds so they don’t have to worry about how they will be keeping the lights on. After all. No one prepares for cancer nor does anyone ask for this to happen to them.
