“You have cancer”. The three words no one wants to hear. Shock wears off and reality sets in. Very soon you’re going to be in the battle of your life, battling for more years with the people you love. Battling to see your young kids grow. Battling to make more memories. I watched these moments sweep over one of my best friends face as she received the news that she has Stage 3 Breast Cancer and processed the path ahead.

Sheena is a self employed hairstylist who, alongside her husband, has worked very hard to provide for their family of five. However, though healthcare may cover the costs of the 20 weeks of chemotherapy and the surgery(s) that will follow, it doesn’t cover the time off that a self-employed mom of three will need to heal and rest so she can overcome this. Cancer doesn’t care if you have the financial means to recover. Cancer is vicious. I’m hoping that our community will wrap its arms around Sheena and the Warnez family and donate so that she has the means to take the time off as needed over the next year to heal. She will work when she is able, but she will inevitably need rest. Your donations are the means to that rest. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
