Donate to help stop domestic abuse to women

First off I am not a runner however I will be participating in the step forward challenge for woman's aid. I will be doing 60 miles in September in efforts to raise money and awareness to domestic violence against women and girls and the work woman's aid do. From now until September i will also be participating in other fundraisers and runs set up by woman's aid and the communities in preparation for the run in September and to also raise as much awareness as i can.

When I was 9 years old my mom was in a domestic abuse relationship with a new boyfriend. At this time there was not as much help out there for women in this situation so the phrase 'domestic abuse' wasn't common or known about. He slowly started to isolate her and cut her off from friends and family and eventually moved us from our home across town to his one bedroom apartment. After being there for a couple of months things got worse and on the 8th February 2013 my mom was sadly murdered at the hands of this man. I want to best help where I can to help stop this kind of abuse from being so common and to raise awareness around this common issue. As 1 in 4 women will experience a domestic abuse.
