My name is Tony and I am the Owner of a Crossfit Gym in Port Kennedy Western Australia and I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Members.

Her name is Bec and she has been with us for about 2 years, single mother with 3 beautiful Children, Toby, Jasper and Pippa. In the last 6 months their World has been turned upside down.

Bec has written below in her words exactly what has happened:

'Here's a bit of a run down of my story:
In November last year I started experiencing some pain in my left knee and quad and began seeing a physio thinking it was a gym related injury. The physio and I worked on my knee thinking it was the main issue but after months of treatment it was only getting worse so I asked him to look into the pain in my thigh. In April I had an MRI of my thigh which discovered a lesion in the bone. Several biopsies and many different scans and tests were done resulting in me being diagnosed with an extremely rare and agressive type of cancer called histiocytic sarcoma.
Being such a rare cancer meant that there was no standard treatment and majority of the doctors on my team had never even seen it before which added another level of fear and uncertainty on top of an already scary cancer diagnosis. My treatment was initially going to involved an amputation followed by 6 rounds of chemo but at the last minute the doctors changed their minds and decided to do chemo first so off i went for my first round of chemo. Unfortunately, the day after my chemo was given my femur broke so the plans changed again and I was booked in for the amputation.
The amputation surgery was done on 23rd June and went well, now I am working on healing from surgery in preparation to commence the next 5 rounds of chemo.
I will need to spend time in a rehab facility learning how to walk and function in day to day life with the use of different aids such as crutches and wheelchairs, it is unknown at the moment whether I will be able to get a prosthetic.'

Bec is such a strong woman and everyday she continues to be strong for her family, the future is looking a little brighter but there is so much that we need to help her with as she learns to live a little differently ❤️ As mentioned we don't know if Bec can have a prosthetic and If not her home will need to modified to allow better access for when she returns home.

Any donation will help make life a little easier for this amazing Mum ❤️ so please give what ever you can and we thank you ❤️

UPDATE:
Bec is now home and receiving as an OutPatient she has also started her second round of chemotherapy ❤️‍

Becs funds at this stage will be put towards a new vehicle and having that vehicle fitted with wheelchair lift and other accessibility requirements so every cents that we can raise will make this a little easier for her
