Darian has been accepted into an International Artists And Writers Residency located in Champagne-Ardenne, France. This residency is “recognized 10 of the most beautiful international artists and writers residency worldwide”. This 4-week residency is €6,400. Darian was granted a Denis Diderot grant and the Emerging Artist grant making the final expense of the residency €3,900. Darian is working two jobs to pay the residency fee itself but any extra donation will able to go to his travel and living expenses while attending the residency.

Darian intends to use this 4week residency to creatively dive into the concentration of dance and how it can have healing properties. Darian is inspired by Kate Wallich’s Dance Church and the ideology of bringing joy back to dance. Darian aspires to use the time to choreograph at least 3 different choreographed pieces incorporating other mediums of art to share by the end of the experience. Darian hopes to take from this experience is tools in creating networking with other passionate artists, and 3 curated and choreographed dances.
