Help support our youth equine program.

My name is Greg Dixon. Phil Dumont recently asked me to help with a program for young people to have experience training and working with horses in the Lower Nicola Valley, near Merritt, British Columbia.

The program was initiated by a group of young women who wanted to help their friends ride and work with horses.

There are currently 16 horses and 18 young people in the program.

The program offers training for young people as an alternative to getting into the kinds of trouble that attract teenagers.

Phil Dumont has used many of his resources, plus help from the community.

Much more is needed to provide feed and care for the horses, expand the facilities, and provide honorariums for trainers and other supporters.

There is a class at the Nichola Valley Institute of Technology on Wednesdays and various trainers and therapists will come to the grounds for training and demonstrations.
