Hi, my name is Terry Ellis. I am raising funds to help my sister, Tammy Jones with her medical expenses while battling ALS. She is only 47 years old and was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). ALS is a terminal disease that attacks and weakens your nervous system. It affects the basic tasks of walking, speaking, eating and more. While most ALS patients see a slow decline this is not true for Tammy. Her first symptoms were only 7 months ago and are progressing quickly. She has lost the ability to work or even care for herself independently. She is unable to walk and requires 24 hour assistance just meeting her basic needs. Her husband is self employed and cannot be with her as much as he would like. They are looking for ways to support her and keep her as functional and comfortable as possible. The average life Span for someone with ALS is 3-5 years Since 2020 this family has experienced a lot of loss including losing their 14 year old daughter. ALS is an extremely expensive disease to treat, though there is no cure. Expenses can be as high as $100,000 to $200,000 per year. They would appreciate any support you are able to give. The funds raised will be used to buy equipment necessary to help Tammy as her needs increase, make modifications to their home and provide her husband with the ability to spend more time with her. Tammy is a fighter with a positive attitude who really needs your help to make her quality of life the best it can be.
