Donate to Help Taryn with Medical Expenses

I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my friend and co-worker, Taryn Fontenette, who is expecting a sweet baby girl on February 6, 2023.

Taryn was taken by surprise last month when sudden extreme pain that she thought was a UTI landed her in urgent care. A subsequent follow-up ultrasound prompted her doctor to insist on an immediate emergency medical procedure.

Her doctor had discovered a large mass covering one of her ovaries that was impacting her baby's growth and possibly threatening both of their lives.

The mass had been growing for years, undetected by routine pap smears and doctor's visits and might never have been discovered if she hadn't been pregnant. If not found, it ultimately would have erupted and could have ended her life.

Taryn's pregnancy previous to this one was Ectopic. That failed pregnancy and other circumstances led her to believe it was not in the cards for her to have a child. She prayed for years to be a mom but was told that odds were not in her favor.

This pregnancy and subsequent emergency surgery have ultimately been life-saving miracles and the answer to many spoken and unspoken prayers.

Taryn's insurance has covered only a small portion of the $10,000 emergency surgery and will also cover only a portion of the birth costs and hospital stay.

Anyone who knows Taryn knows what an incredibly hard worker she is, what a fiercely loving friend and family member she is and that she doesn't give up. However, due to the unexpected financial output of the emergency surgery, she is struggling to pay the down payment for a new house she contracted to accommodate her growing family.

For this reason, and because she won't ask - I'm reaching out to beloved friends, family and co-workers for help. Let's rally the troops, raise the barn and get this new mama and baby in a safe, cozy house where they belong with a little extra cushion to help with the substantial cost of bringing a new life into this world.
