Help the Matyasi family post live kidney donation

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Jeanine, Jordan’s “oldest” sister, asking for donations to assist her family after Jordan donates a “spare” kidney to a stranger, so a stranger will donate a “spare” kidney to our nephew.

Our nephew, Xavier, previously received a kidney from his dad (Brendan-our brother) at the age of 11. For a decade they lived in harmony. Xavier experienced an acute kidney injury after a series of seizures- or maybe vice versa- and his kidney was rejected.

Jordan is an overachiever in most things, but she is demonstrating her selflessness with being a match- just not for our nephew (a complication of him previously having a close relative live donor). Lucky for him, another family found themselves in the same predicament (unlucky/lucky?!?)

On 8/29 at the Cleveland Clinic, Xavier will receive a kidney from a stranger, so the stranger’s family member can receive a kidney from Jordan on 8/31! It’s a wild time around these parts with all sorts of selfless, loving hearts!

We realize how fortunate to be in this situation. This will require some much needed rest and recuperation for Jordan as she donates, and then provides physical, emotional and mental support to Xavier, Brendan, and Chris- while juggling her two boys with her husband Karl.

Jordan has been encouraged to remain off work for 6 weeks. If you know Jordan, rest is not a word associated with her!

Thank you for considering a donation to cover costs not associated with direct care at the hospital. These funds will be utilized to cover parking, gas, meals, keeping her boys occupied while mom rests, and taking the burden off “slowing down” for a full 6 weeks. Jordan’s heart is pure selfless love. . . You can’t really put a price tag on her gift.

Any funds not used for direct post donation costs for the Matyasi Family will be shared with Brendan and Chris while they support Xavier and his rest and recuperation from receiving a live donor kidney from a stranger! Is this family amazing or what?!?
