Hello, my name is Olga Nazarchuk, and I'm reaching out to ask for your support in raising funds for our dear friends and their family, the Shevchuk family.

On April 29, Abigail Shevchuk, a nine year old girl in the family of nine, woke up feeling extremely unwell, experiencing double vision and a severe migraine. After visiting the doctor, they were initially informed that it might be a viral infection. However, within a few days, Abigail's symptoms worsened, and she began vomiting. As a result, Abigail couldn't attend school, and her mother, Nina, had to take time off work to care for her.

Despite numerous doctor visits, emergency room trips, and extensive testing, including blood work, the cause of Abigail's symptoms remained unknown. In the following days, Abigail's speech and mobility were affected, making it difficult for her to communicate clearly and walk properly. Worried for their daughter's well-being, her parents rushed her to Omaha Children's Hospital, where further tests, such as MRI and spinal tap, led to a diagnosis of acute cerebellitis. The main challenge now is identifying the underlying cause of Abigail's cerebellitis so that doctors can administer appropriate treatment.

In their pursuit of effective treatment options, Abigail's parents are eager to take her to the Mayo Clinic in another state, hoping that specialists there can offer a more suitable course of action. The doctors have mentioned that Abigail's recovery journey may span from three to six months. Currently, Abigail is taking pain and nausea medication to alleviate her symptoms, and her mother, Nina, accompanies her to rehabilitation sessions three times a week. Additionally, they regularly consult a specialist in a different city, who estimates that Abigail's full recovery will take another three to six months.

During this challenging time, Nina spent over six weeks in the hospital and rehabilitation center with Abigail, leaving her unable to work. This has placed a significant financial burden on their family. Furthermore, Abigail's father, Alex, works as a truck driver and occasionally faces periods without loads, exacerbating their already difficult financial situation.

If you feel compelled to assist this family financially, please know that all donations collected will directly support the Shevchuk family, helping them cover their medical expenses, bills, as well as the costs associated with travel for specialized treatment.

The Shevchuk family deeply appreciates your prayers and support during this trying time.
