Donate to help Tricia Painter

My name is Jan and I am raising funds to help my dear friend Tricia Painter with relocation expenses and legal fees due to losing her home. Over the last few years, Tricia has faced more than her share of health struggles and personal loss that have taken a toll on her financial and emotional wellbeing. Throughout it all, her strong faith and “never give up” attitude helped sustain her and face those struggles with grace. However, today Tricia is facing a challenge nothing could prepare her for which is the loss of her home. The home in which she was raised and has lived in most of her life.

When Tricia’s mother was unable to live alone, she and her daughter moved back home to care for her. At her mother’s death, the will specified that Tricia’s daughter would inherit the house on her 25th birthday. When this occurred in 2018, Tricia’s daughter told her she had no interest in the property and assured Tricia she could live there the rest of her life. Tricia took her at her word and continued to maintain the house, paying all expenses, repairs, and renovations needed.

In 2021, after getting married, Tricia’s daughter reneged on her promise and started charging Tricia rent. Now, she has decided to sell the house with a tentative closing the first week of April, forcing Tricia to vacate her home. Along with her heart being broken over her daughter’s betrayal, she now faces the daunting task of quickly finding somewhere to live, packing and moving an entire household, and paying all the expenses (including legal fees) involved in doing so.
