Hello, we are the Robelo Family from Costa Rica. Recently, we faced an extraordinary challenge that changed our lives forever. Our beloved mother, Alejandra, was diagnosed with advanced liver desease cirrhosis due to auto-immune hepatitis. The only chance for her survival and cure was a liver transplant. In a testament to our love and commitment, both of us siblings volunteered as candidates to donate a portion of our own livers to save her life.

Two weeks after the surgery, we are filled with immense gratitude and pride. One of us donated 70% of his liver, and while the journey was demanding, seeing our mother’s vibrant recovery has made every sacrifice worthwhile. We now stand closer than ever, stronger, and deeply inspired.

Our mother’s recovery has sparked a powerful desire within us to help others who are facing similar challenges. We are driven to turn our experience into a beacon of hope for those contemplating living donation. We aim to establish a Foundation and support group dedicated to guiding individuals through the complex and emotional journey of liver transplant and living donation.
