Hi, my name is Vahan Sargsyan. I am 17 years old and I currently live in Armenia. This fall of 2023, I will be attending the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to pursue a degree in mathematics. As a student with a passion for learning and a strong desire to achieve my academic goals, I am committed to pursuing higher education and making a positive impact on the world around me. However, the high costs of tuition, textbooks, and other educational expenses have created a significant financial burden for me and my family. That is why I have created this GoFundMe page to ask for your support to help me raise funds for my college tuition. My total tuition is around $60,000 and I hope to raise at least $25,000.

About me

I have always been interested in science, the vivid proof of which is my participation in the 16th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) held in Qatar in 2019. Along with school, I like to participate in intellectual games, such as "What, Where, When?". In 2020, participating in the intellectual game "Du Gites", I became a winner in Armenia. Being from the small city Etchmiadzin in Armenia, I was one of the few students who received a full scholarship when I entered Ayb High School. During the 3 years spent in high school, I have developed several skills that will make me competitive in university and scientific work in the future. I like to play the piano. I am also learning to play the bass guitar as an amateur. I play in the band of "Ayb" high school.

Why Mathematics?

Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by the beauty and logic of numbers. As I grew older, my passion for mathematics only grew deeper. My love for mathematics is not just a hobby or interest, but a fundamental part of my identity, shaping the way I view the world and my place in it. I believe that mathematics is a powerful force that can drive me to achieve great things and make a positive impact on the world.

Future goals

As a future Armenian mathematician, I will use my knowledge and skills to solve the most important problems facing Armenian society. The development of science and education in Armenia is one of the most essential issues that need a lot of attention. And mathematics, with its abstract way of thinking, is related to all sciences, and the development of mathematics is at the basis of the development of the latter. Artificial Intelligence is gradually developing in the world, which lays the foundation for a new technological era. By giving greater importance to mathematics, on which rely Machine Learning and Neural Networks, Armenia will be able to keep pace with the rest of the world without spending a lot of resources.

In addition, another important problem in Armenia is the education system. In many cases, the education system does not meet the requirements of the 21st century, especially in such fields as natural sciences and mathematics. Teaching staff in higher education institutions is aging. Dealing with the best professors in the USA, I am going to bring all my experience to Armenia and invest in the Armenian education system.

Բարև, Ես Վահան Սարգսյանն եմ։ Ես 17 տարեկան եմ և ապրում եմ Հայաստանում։ Այս աշնանը պատրաստվում եմ ուսումս շարունակել Մինեսոտայի համալսարանում, որտեղ սովորելու եմ մաթեմատիկա։ Որպեսզի կարողանամ հասնել իմ ակադեմիական նպատակներին, ես հակված եմ շարունակել կրթությունս բարձրագույն ուսումնական հաստատությունում՝ հետագայում դրականորեն իմ շրջապատող աշխարհի վրա ազդելու համար։ Սակայն ուսման, դասագրքերի և կրթական այլ ծախսերը զգալի ֆինանսական խնդիր են դարձել իմ և ընտանիքիս համար։ Այս պատճառով ստեղծել եմ այս էջը Ձեր աջակցությունը ստանալու նպատակով։ Իմ ընդհանուր ուսման վարձը կազմում է մոտավոր 60000$, և հույս ունեմ հավաքել առնվազն 25000$:

Իմ Մասին

Միշտ հետաքրքրված եմ եղել գիտությամբ, որի վառ ապացույցն է 2019թ-ին մասնակցությունը Քաթարում անցկացված 16-րդ միջազգային պատանեկան բնագիտական օլիմպիադային (IJSO)։ Դպրոցին զուգահեռ սիրում եմ մասնակցել ինտելետկուալ խաղերի, ինչպիսիք են` «Ի՞նչ, Որտե՞ղ, Ե՞րբ»-ը: 2020թ․-ին մասնակցելով «Դու Գիտես» ինտելեկտուալ խաղին` դարձա Հայաստանում հաղթող։ Լինելով Էջմիածնից՝ Այբ ավագ դպրոց ընդունվելիս այն սակավաթիվ աշակերտներից էի, որ ստացա ամբողջական կրթաթոշակ։ Ավագ դպրոցում անցկացրած 3 տարիների ընթացքում ես զարգացրել եմ մի շարք հատկանիշներ, որոնք ինձ ապագայում մրցունակ կդարձնեն համալսարանական և գիտական աշխատանքներում։ Սիրում եմ նվագել դաշնամուր, նաև սիրողական փորձում եմ սովորել նվագել բաս կիթառ։ Նվագում եմ «Այբ» ավագ դպրոցի նվագախմբում։

Ինչու՞ Մաթեմատիկա

Դեռ մանկուց ինձ միշտ հետաքրքրել է մաթեմատիկայի գեղեցկությունն ու տրամաբանական խնդիրները, որ ինձ հանդիպել եմ։ Մեծանալուն զուգընթաց մաթեմատիկայի հանդեպ իմ սերը գնալով ավելի էր խորանում։ Մաթեմատիկան ինձ համար ուղղակի հոբբի չէ։ Այն իմ ինքնության մի մասնիկն է, որը տարիների ընթացքում ձևավորել է իմ աշխարհայացքն ու իմ տեղը այս աշխարհում։ Ես հավատում եմ, որ մաթեմատիկան և գիտությունը այն շարժիչ ուժն են, որ կմղեն ինձ դեպի նոր նվաճումների։ Իմ նվաճումները ես պատրաստվում եմ ծառայեցնել հասարակության զարգացմանը։

Ապագա նպատակներս

Որպես ապագա հայ մաթեմատիկոս՝ ես հնարվորություն կունենամ օգտագործել իմ գիտելիքներն ու հմտությունները հայ հասարակության առջև ծառացած ամենակարևոր խնդիրները լուծելու համար։ Գիտության և կրթության զարգացումը Հայաստանում կարևորագույն խնդիրներից են, որոնք կարիք ունեն մեծ ուշադրության։ Իսկ մաթեմատիկան իր աբստրակտ մտածելակերպով առնչվում է բոլոր գիտությունների հետ, իսկ վերջիններիս զարգացման հիմքում ընկած է մաթեմատիկայի զարգացումը։ Աշխարհում հիմա գնալով զարգանում է արհեստական բանակությունը, որը հիմքն է դնում տեխնոլոգիական նոր դարաշրջանի։ Արհեստական բանակության հիմքում ընկած մաթեմատիկային ավելի մեծ նշանակություն տալով՝ Հայաստանը կկարողանա շարժվել աշխարհի մնացած երկրների հետ զուգընթաց առանց մեծ ռեսուրսներ ծախսելու։

Բացի այդ, Հայաստանում մեկ այլ կարևոր խնդիր է կրթական համակարգը։ Շատ դեպքերում կրթական համակարգը չի համապատասխանում 21-րդ դարի պահանջներին, հատկապես այնպիսի բնագավառներում, ինչպիսիք են՝ բնական գիտություններն ու մաթեմատիկան։ Բարձրագույն կրթական հաստատություններում դասախոսական անձնակազմը գնում է ծերացման։ ԱՄՆ-ի լավագույն դասախոսների հետ առնչվելով՝ ես պատրաստվում եմ իմ ողջ փորձը բերել Հայաստան և ներդնել հայակական կրթական համակարգում։
