Help Sponsor Young Afghan Refugee Family

Salam alaykum,

May peace and blessings be upon you all, especially in these blessed last nights of Ramadan.

My husband Amir and I are trying to fundraise money for a young refugee couple from Afghanistan that is in need of both financial and emotional support. The couple arrived in Chicago in January after spending months in refugee/military camps in Qatar and New Mexico. Both the husband and wife sustained trauma wounds from the war on their way to Kabul International Airport, where they were evacuated. The husband also developed significant renal damage at the military camps and cannot work. The wife is working double shifts in a kitchen to make ends meet, despite losing sensation in her right arm due to a bullet that damaged her lung and arm. The wife is one of the hardest-working Afghan refugees we have met at MWRC. Donations will help furnish their apartment and purchase an A/C, as they don't have anything right now.

We would need to raise at least $2,000 for this family. Please give generously and know that no amount is too small. This cause is zakat eligible.
