Donate to Honor Laura Ruben and Aid Her Girls

We are heartbroken to share the tragic loss of Laura Ruben, a beloved mother, teacher, and friend, who lost her life in a senseless act of domestic violence. Laura's husband took her life before taking his own, leaving behind her two beautiful daughters, Abigail Grace (14) and Oaklyn Rae (2), who now face a future without their loving mother; Oaklyn parentless.

Laura was a dedicated and compassionate teacher in District 6, Greeley, Colorado, where she worked tirelessly with hearing and vision-impaired students. Her impact on the community was profound, and she was cherished by all who knew her. Colorado was Laura's happy place, and it is devastating that her journey there was cut so short.

Our family will be working to give back a portion of donations to these school programs to support her efforts in providing better resources for children & families in need!

In the wake of this tragedy, Darin (Gaylene) Gilderoy and Jessica (Colson) Callaham are working closely with the state of Colorado to ensure that Abigail and Oaklyn remain together and are cared for by Laura's family. Our goal is to provide the girls with the emotional and mental support they need during this incredibly difficult time.

We have established this GoFundMe campaign to honor the wishes of those who loved and admired Laura, Abigail, and Oaklyn. The funds raised will be placed in a trust to ensure the girls have financial stability throughout their childhood. This will allow Laura's family to focus on meeting all of Abigail and Oaklyn's needs without the added burden of financial stress.
