My granddaughter, Hope, was born with several rare birth defects, including a major heart defect called Pentalogy of Cantrell. Pentalogy of Cantrell (POC) is a rare congenital syndrome that affects five parts of the body: the heart, pericardium, diaphragm, sternum, and abdominal wall. She also has an omphalocele. An omphalocele is a birth defect in which an infant's intestines or other abdominal organs are outside of the body. Hope's liver is outside of her body. So far, she's had a heart procedure to insert stents into her arteries. She will soon be facing major open-heart surgery. In the future, there will be many, ongoing heart surgeries and therapies. There will also be surgery to fix her omphalocele.
So many prayers have been answered already, and Hope is our miracle baby! But, there are numerous ongoing medical bills and other financial pressures, so it would be wonderful if we could help during this great time of need. Please continue to pray for Hope's parents, Matthew and Megan, and Hope's siblings as they navigate this stressful journey ahead. Let's wrap our arms around them and show all the of love and support we can! They have been blessed with so many people covering Hope in prayer. Your ongoing prayers, love, and support are greatly appreciated. Please forward and share this with others.
