Donate to Improve Georgie's Quality of Life

My name is Lisa, and I'm the mother of a very special and beautiful young man, my son Georgie. Born prematurely with various disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, PDD, OCD, and a speech disorder, he's had his share of obstacles to deal with in his life. Through it all, he's had the sweetest disposition, always smiling.

As if he didn't already have enough to overcome, in February of 2020, his health plummeted. Rushed to the hospital, he was diagnosed with heart failure. I was told his heart was functioning like that of a man of 88 years old. They also discovered a small tumor in his stomach. Thankfully, that was benign. Doctors did, however, remove his gallbladder. It's been a long 4 years. His heart function has maintained at 33 percent capacity. I was able to rest easier at night. Until 7 months ago.

I noticed Georgie was stumbling and tripping, eventually falling. His doctors have told me that as Georgie has gotten older, his Cerebral Palsy has gotten worse. He's been able to walk without aid from the age of 4. What a milestone that was for him! Now, he's facing the possibility of having to be in a wheelchair, he uses a walker periodically now.

Our house doesn't have a ramp, to get up onto the porch we're using two flat stones. Georgie is having increased difficulty getting up onto the porch. The other issue for Georgie has become the tub. He has trouble finding his footing getting into the tub for a shower.

With Georgie and I living on the disability payment each month, it's impossible for me to afford the much-needed changes to the house that would help Georgie have a better quality of life. I reached out to Morgan's Wonderland a year ago, they provided the names of a few services, unfortunately living out of the Bexar county area they weren't available.

I'm asking for help to achieve this goal in the form of a front door ramp and a walk-in shower. Thank you for any help you can give in reaching this goal.
