Hi,

My name is Tracy and I've started this Gofundme on behalf of my oldest friend, Jenny Espinosa. She has hit a rough patch with health issues and will need a significant surgery soon to get better. She would rather eat glass than ask for help but she has been unable to work for several months and her safety net is quickly running out. I am helping get the word out that a great friend and worthy human being is in need of some assistance to get her through the next few weeks so she can recover and get back to work.

Jenny has given some details about her situation to fill you in:

In May I went on FMLA for extreme fatigue, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, pretty severe anxiety, and general malaise. If I had to go to the store or try to walk down the street I had this extreme light headedness which, more often than not, forced me to sit on the ground out of fear of blacking out. At work, I had stopped climbing on ladders for fear of falling and hurting myself. When I went up flights of stairs I would have to stop at the top to catch my breath and my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. I couldn’t lift five gallon buckets of paint or a paint sprayer without help. Ten hour days completely exhausted me whereas before it had been no problem for me to work 12 hours if I had to.

My doctor suggested a full blood work up. I remember being so dizzy on the long walk to get my blood drawn I hugged the wall and walked with baby steps. My blood count was abnormal and I was one point away from needing a blood transfusion. This explained why I couldn’t complete daily tasks easily anymore: I was missing blood due to the heavy blood loss I have monthly on my menses. I was given three rounds of IV Iron infusions, (which also lists dizziness as a side effect—boy was that rough). My OBGYN said I had three large fibroids pressing onto the lining of my uterus, plus a couple of small ones hanging around for good measure. This why I was bleeding so much, damned tumors. The doctor informed me I would need a total abdominal hysterectomy. So the date’s set, August 30 at noon.

This whole thing has completely blindsided me emotionally, financially, and spiritually. I feel like this is the lowest point that I've been in life. It’s a lot to deal with. I haven’t been able to work either so I’ve been using my savings, small as they are. My work has short-term disability but because it’s 60% of my pay it’s difficult for me to pay all my bills; plus the coverage ends on August 25th. After this major surgery, I will need between 4–8 weeks to recover before returning to work; I won’t be able to lift more than ten pounds or walk as far as I usually do until I get the green light.

I am embarrassed to ask anyone for help because I want to always be in control and able to fix things on my own. If people donate I would use the donations for the following: IV Infusion treatments, two ultrasounds, a percentage of my deductible for insurance for the surgery, anesthesiologist services (not covered by my insurance), any medical care I would need post-op (doctors' appointments, video visits, prescriptions), rent and utilities, groceries, a giant container of Red Vines, dog food for Midgee, cat food for my fat girl kitty Mona, and elderly boy Santos, Prozac prescription refill for Santos, and one Door Dash order for pizza for Mike and I to have a movie night when he comes in town for a couple of days (to help me off the toilet and walk around). --Jenny

We would be most grateful for whatever you can spare to help. If you could share this campaign with others it would be so appreciated!

Thanks,

Tracy and Jenny
