Help Jeremy and Big Boi with moving forward

I’m Jeremy and I am not really sure how to go about this. I’ve never asked anything from anyone unless I could pay it back. There’s no way I can’t ask at this point so here goes.
I helped my aging father, Michael Fields/Pops, move from Norman, OK to Tallahassee, FL around the last week of August, 2022. I had a good job with Leon County, a spare room, and paid time off. He was retired, had a good dog, and was ready to roll. Things were great but not nearly for long enough.

A couple days before Christmas, 2023, I lost my job in an unforgiving economic climate. The unemployment benefits I’ve received while looking for work combined with my father’s monthly SSI check barely kept us afloat. On May 10th, Tallahassee was hit by a storm that produced three separate tornadoes, one of which touched down briefly in the backyard. Tallahassee and surrounding areas were unprepared and got hit hard. This also resulted in the destruction of our only running vehicle. (My Civic took on water during Hurricane Idalia and mold claimed the entire interior.) Giant pines, one completely uprooted and the other snapped like a toothpick 10 feet up, fell and pancaked Pop’s Taurus. Hard times got even harder. Nothing within walking distance was hiring. We found ourselves on foot and eating 1 Ramen packet each, per day and sometimes 1 packet had to last for two days. Pops and I hang in there and finally there’s a silver lining.

A childhood friend had a vehicle she could loan me. Pops and I were so excited. Words like grateful and appreciative don’t really convey our thankfulness for the kindness. Maybe things can finally get back on track. She came down on the 16th of this month. The following morning, I found Pops struggling in the bathroom. I helped him to his room and onto his bed and shakily called 911. He was admitted the morning of the 17th and I had no idea how sick he was. On 7/18/2024, at 11:20 PM, my father and best friend passed on.

Shattered comes close I guess.

Big Boi is my responsibility now but it’s a blessing. He keeps me tethered. He has medicinal needs I can’t afford though. I’m under a roof I can’t afford and next month is right around the corner. Times are tough for everyone these days and I truly have no expectations. I’ve been in a position at times throughout my life where I could help folks. I’ve been in a position at times where I could barely help myself. This particular time is the bleakest I’ve seen yet.

Should anything be donated there’s a few things that have to happen and this is the intention. First and foremost, after calling the veterinarian Pops used, I need to get Biggie in for his annual checkup. They can’t prescribe his medication and the annual is four month's past due. He has an ongoing ear infection. He could stand some grooming and some treats. Getting Big Boi on track is most important.

Secondly, this place has been loss after loss for me and even if I could afford to stay under this roof, there really isn’t anything keeping me here anymore. I intend to get affairs settled here in Florida. Lots to do there. Awaiting the call for the release of my father’s death certificate and his remains so I can drive out and retrieve them. Getting this place packed up and cleaned up. Going through Pop’s belongings is gonna take a little time as well.

With friends and family both in Georgia and Oklahoma, I’m not sure yet where the winds will take us but I intend to take the Biggie and sidekick show on the road.

I intend to start this new and scary chapter of my life with the charisma and character qualities this life seems to want to strip me of. Anything at all would be helpful and appreciated. Nothing but love
