# Emergency Housing Support for My Daughter Abby and Her Family

## Our Current Crisis

My name is Michele Michalak and I'm raising funds to help my daughter Abby and her family who are currently facing homelessness. They've been staying in a hotel temporarily, but funds have run out, and they desperately need support while fighting through a complicated housing situation.

## The Situation

Abby and her family have been denied shelter placement multiple times, despite advocacy from lawyers and even outreach to congressional representatives. They're currently caught in a bureaucratic nightmare with the local shelter system, which appears to be violating their rights to emergency housing assistance.

Two weeks ago, there was a hearing regarding these violations, and we're awaiting the findings which should be released very soon. We're hopeful that with all the advocacy efforts, things will move in a positive direction, but until then, they need immediate help.

## Why We Need Your Support

The hotel they're staying in is paid through Friday, but after that, they have nowhere to go. All available foundation assistance has been exhausted, and we're turning to the community for help.

## How Your Donation Will Help

* $150 provides one night of accommodation

* $100 helps with food and essential supplies

* $500 helps with deposit for a new apartment when they find one

I've already covered their hotel stay through Friday, but I've reached my financial limit. Without additional support, they face sleeping in their vehicle.

## Our Goal

We're trying to raise $6000 to provide Abby and her family with:

- Two more weeks of hotel accommodation while their case is resolved

- Essential supplies and food

- Transportation to legal appointments and housing searches

- A small cushion for first month's rent when they find permanent housing
