Donate to Keep Fancy Plants Seattle Growing

Hello Planty friends! I started Fancy Plants in 2022 with the goal of becoming a safe, inclusive community space, where people can learn about plants and become better plant parents. I also work to rehabilitate sad or suffering plants and offer them at discount prices to make nature accessible to everyone. In addition to selling plants, the Fancy Plants team works to make media content that is fun and educational and hosts workshops on cool ways to work with plants outside putting them in pots. October 2024 marks our two year anniversary!

Unfortunately, this past year has been extremely difficult for the business and for myself personally. We found out that our shop dog, Pork Bun, had an aggressive cancer that required surgery. In addition, my health took a drastic turn that made it physically impossible for me to work. Through weeks of testing coupled with seeing several specialists, I was finally able to get a diagnosis. My conditions have no cure, but I am able to start medications that make life more manageable soon. Even with health insurance, the medical bills from both Pork Bun and I have been piling up.

And so, after a lot of thought, I am asking our community for some help. Any amount is more than appreciated to help keep our shop running (and giving Pork Bun some well deserved treats) but we are also offering a few donation perks listed below.

We also have plant sales all through the end of October to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, so if you're in Seattle please stop by the shop and support us by picking up a plant or two!
