Update 1/2/25: After two + months, Cash is still in the NICU at John Hopkins in Balitmore. Although there have been some improvements, he is still not ready to come home. Our little fighter is trying to get home to his two big sisters and his big brother. But for now, he has to stay put until a long-term solution is found.

As you know, Cash had invasive abdominal surgery at 3 days old. Since then, our little fighter has been through E-coli, feeding tubes, tubes to pump backed up wastes out of his stomach, MRI's, CT scans, blood tests, genetic tests, x-rays, every test you can imagine. He still has many tubes/IV's in his tiny little body.

Jamie and Hailey are trying to do everything possible to advocate for all of his medical needs to find an answer to why after all of this, Cash is still unable to eat without getting sick. They have recently started him on a several week regiment of steroids to help with the swelling and inflammation in his intestines and bowel. He is up to 10-15 ML's per feeding. (A normal feeding is about 120 ML's.) He has a ways to go before they can even consider discharging him from the hospital.

As you can imagine, this is putting a huge financial strain on Jamie and Hailey's household. The grandparents and great-grandparents are able to care for their other three children during this long stay at the hospital; but that isn't a solution for their bills and expenses that still need paid. Not to mention what hospital bills may be coming their way when he is finally home.....

Please continue to pray for Cash and his family. Donate to them if you are able. Or if you know of a church, organization, or group that has a benevolent fund for struggling families, please consider giving them Jamie and Hailey's information.

Many blessings to you all in 2025! We wish you health, happiness, and prosperity. Sincerely, Cash's family

Update 11/20/24: Cash is still in John Hopkins Hospital NICU. The doctors are still working to figure out why the surgery hasn't been 100% successful. He is undergoing many tests and procedures. During this long process, Jamie and Hailey are separated from their other three children and counting on other family members to help care for them. They are tired and frustrated, advocating for Cash each day. The doctors, nurses, and staff at JHH are wonderful and are doing everything they can to fix our little Cash.

Please know how much everyone's prayers and support means to Hailey, Jamie and the rest of Cash's family. Thank you all for showing us that there is still a lot of good in this world. Bless you all.

Hi, we are Jason and Tricia Carbaugh. Our daughter and son-in-law, Hailey and Jamie, had a baby on October 28, 2024. He was born with a malformation in his abdomen. At two days old, he was transferred to John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Cash had extensive surgery on 10/31 to connect his intestines to his colon. He has been progressing slowly, and with every step forward, there seems to be a step backward too.

Jamie and Hailey have three other children at home in Hanover. They are staying in Baltimore with the baby, but they are still on the waiting list for the Ronald McDonald House.

Donations will be used for them to stay near the hospital as well as to feed them each day. Cash will most likely be there for several more weeks, and their savings have been depleted. If there is money left at the end of his stay, it will be put towards his hospital bills.

Jason and I are so grateful for all of the prayers and support. We are blessed beyond measure with so many wonderful friends and family. Keep praying that sweet little Cash gets to go home and meet his whole family soon.
