Donate to Keep Kate and Her Son Safe on the Road

Howdy! My name is Kate Crowley and I am in need of some helping hands. During the summer of 2023, my Mah (mother) passed away and my then 11-year-old and I drove up to Boston, MA for her services and to support my dad. Two weeks later, just before we were to return home, my husband passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. We were beyond devastated. The months without him have been a struggle, but we had finally made it to putting up the tree again for Christmas this year and feeling tentatively festive when the other shoe dropped.

My beloved 2010 Toyota Corolla stick shift cut out on 285 in Atlanta, during Friday night rush hour traffic. (If you know, you know!) We were okay, but despite a new alternator, the car still has intermittent electrical issues which the dealership and a mechanic can't seem to solve. My son has already lost one parent and I cannot risk his safety or mine. Thus, we are in need of a new/new-to-me, reliable vehicle. The current prices of vehicles are simply out of reach as a single-income family at this time. It is EXTREMELY difficult for me to ask for help on a good day and I recognize there are so many people on here in much more dire straits than us, but we need a miracle. Any amount will help go towards a new car.

The amount listed is a stretch goal. If we hit that goal and I'm able to get a new vehicle for less, any extra funds will be donated to others in need. My late husband always said, "Don't look in someone else's bowl to see if they have more than you, look to see that they have enough." We work to keep his memory alive. Thank you with all my heart.
