Keen-Agers is an assisted living facility founded in 1976 by Father Wilbert Staudenmaier, and located in Wakefield, Michigan.
Keen-Agers has not always been an independent living facility. The building was built in the 1950s and originally started out as a hospital that was called Devine Infant. Father Wilbert was the first person to start the adult foster care in 1976.
Keen-Agers is a nonprofit organization that is primarily funded through the renting of our apartments. We have a total of six staff members, who are often accompanied by volunteers.
Recently, Keen-Agers has had to make some serious renovations to their building in order to keep accommodations for their residents. They recently had to replace an entire elevator along with other electrical/structural repairs. This has put them into a financial hard spot and they are asking the community or anyone who takes an interest to donate and help recoup what they had to spend so they can continue to restore Keen-Agers for the current residents and residents to come.
If you have any interest in donating — it would be so appreciated! If not, at least share Keen-Agers' story so we can come together as a community and help a local business that is giving back to such a vulnerable part of our population.
Thank you and God bless!
