Hi, we are Constantin and Irina and today we ask for your help.

We are originally from Moldova but relocated to the UK 7 years ago, with no money or relations. All we had was a strong belief that with hard work and determination we will be able to move forward and get us the life we wanted for ourselves and our children.

Three years ago we started our photography business, not long before the pandemic hit, and the entire economy was put to a halt but this didn't stop us from fighting for our dream. Constantin worked night shifts in a warehouse, I worked as a sales assistant in a shop just to make the ends meet and we waited patiently until the normal life will resume so we could be able to carry on with our plan.

Everyone who ever started a small business knows how hard it is to grow from zero. And especially those who work in the photography business realise what a big investment it is. We invested in our education, gear, monthly subscriptions, marketing... we sacrificed our personal lives and worked and worked for a better future.

Recently, while Constantin was photographing a wedding, his camera bag with equipment worth 5,000 pounds was stolen from the venue. It made us sick to the stomach that someone would do such a disgusting thing, especially because they knew that they were not only taking away our hard earned belongings, they were also stealing the lovely couple's pictures from the most important day in their lives.

Everything in that bag was worth 5.000 pounds. Although for many this may not sound like a lot, for us this represents a huge hit to our budget. It means that the little savings we managed to make this year after the pandemic restrictions eased will have to be used to buy new cameras, lenses, flashes, memory cards, adaptors... basically we are almost back to square one. The worst part is that the insurance company refused to cover our loss.

We understand that this is a non emergency situation and everyone is going though their own hardships, but if you can spare your coffee for a day and help us instead it will mean the world for us.

I never realised how hard it is to be put in the position of asking for someone's help. It humbles you and makes you realise what a powerful thing the community can be.
