Donate to Kelsey McRae's Breast Cancer Recovery

To our Friends, Family, and Community,
We come to you with a plea close to our hearts for our beloved Kelsey McRae. She’s a wonderful daughter, caring colleague, and the kind of friend who you feel like you've known forever upon meeting.
In February 2024, Kelsey was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer (hormonal ER+) and due to her age and family history, her care team is performing a double mastectomy and reconstruction at the end of March. As the daughter of a survivor, Kelsey is no stranger to the financial and emotional strain that comes with such a diagnosis.
Kelsey must take a leave of absence from her full-time job managing large volunteer events for L.A. Works, one of the largest volunteer mobilization orgs in Southern California. Previously, she worked at the Library Foundation of Los Angeles as the Program Coordinator. She has touched the lives of so many – she started volunteering in Colorado as a little girl and committed her professional career to improving the lives of others – and now we have the opportunity to give back to her.
While Kelsey is grateful to have health insurance, the medical bills and related expenses will surpass her coverage. Kelsey makes the most of her nonprofit salary but needs our help! Even the smallest contribution will make an impact as she lives alone, supports her family and is the cat mom of two.
Your donations will be used to cover the costs related (but not limited) to the following:
- Kelsey's medical bills
- Loss of pay during a medical leave of 3+ months
- Frequent trips between Colorado and California for her family
- Any additional miscellaneous costs that are unknown but sure to come
Kelsey is the kind of girl who will cross stitch or embroider something just to make you smile – so whatever you are able to contribute for her would be appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this fundraiser with others. Let's help Kelsey get back to playing bridge, being the world’s best cat mom, and supporting the community that she loves!
