My name is Kimberly and this is my younger brother's story.

Kevin is his name but majority of the time he goes by Dad, or bubba, Uncle Kevin, or honey. About a year or so ago he went to the doctor because there were a couple of knots on him that weren't going away...they were actually getting bigger. His doctor ran some tests on him and when the results came back, he was blindsided with what his doctor told him and his wife, Cyndi....CANCER! Stage 4 Melanoma. Their entire world was turned upside down in just a weekend. The doctors informed my brother and his wife that there were options. But, because the cancer was already in such a late stage, the treatments he would need would only give him a few more years. Maybe 5, if he was lucky and that he would have to do this until the treatments were no longer a benefit.

For many months, Kevin and Cyndi made weekly trips to Louisville so Kev could receive his treatments. Eventually these treatments wore him down and he found himself sick most days and unable to work as much as he always had before. My brother pours concrete for a living but as this damn cancer has progressed, he can no longer work... Kevin has lost the majority of his pigmentation and even brief periods of time outside with the sun give him blisters.

They have now lost ownership of their home, the same home they share with their two sons and two little nieces, and pay $1500 monthly rent now on the house.

I'm asking for help for my brother and his family. Anything will help and all is a blessing.
