Donate to LA Public Media Fire Victims

Members of the public media community in and around Los Angeles have been devastated by wild fires. They include people we see and hear every day, and people behind the scenes we may never know, but power our collective public service.

They have served their communities while their own lives have been thrown into chaos. Homes and pets have been lost, lives up-ended, and lifetimes of memories destroyed. Much is unknown and uncertain.

We're asking members of the wider public media community to donate to this new relief fund. We often speak of the essential strength of the public media system. NOW is a moment to demonstrate that strength in support of our colleagues in LA.

Please give as generously as you can. For now, this campaign will stay only open through the end of January. With the GoFundMe processing time, we expect to begin dispersing funds towards the end of February.

We're keeping eligibility simple - anyone who has been affected by the fires and can verify current employment at a public media station serving the LA metro can and should apply. Details on how, when and where to apply to come.

All verified applicants will receive $500 on a first come, first serve basis until funds are exhausted. Funds will be administered by the Station Resource Group (SRG) and paid via electronic transfer only. This campaign is being managed collaboratively by SRG and Listen Again Tomorrow, LLC.

All funds raised (less GoFundMe fees as applicable) will be dispersed to aid individual victims of the LA fires who work for public broadcasting stations in greater Los Angeles. SRG is acting as the fiscal agent only, and will not receive any financial benefit.
