Hi, I’m Leo. I’m 24, unemployed and living at home with my mum.

This is the third gofundme that I’ve now made for myself, I want it to be the Last.

I am Trans Nonbinary and need to raise the funds for my Top Surgery.

I have been on Universal credit for over a year and have essentially been out of employment since I was 19.

I receive just under £300 each month to last me each month, a lot of this goes to food, my phone bill and bus travel costs.

I have a separate account for my savings for my top surgery, it hasn’t exceeded £200 so far, but I do add any money I can spare each month into my savings.

I didn’t grow up with a plan or aspirations for myself because I didn’t expect to live to 23. I spent a lot of that time exploring my identity but generally feeling like I don’t want to be here.

I discovered I was trans when I was 16, I had always known I wasn’t a ‘girl’ from a young age but didn’t have the terminology to express what I felt. I only came out to my friends and family as Trans Nonbinary when I was 19.

I’ve always felt masculine, but expressed myself as feminine. I grew up with a lot of hatred for myself because I didn’t know how to explain that to my family or people around me. I tried to reject my femininity and act like a ‘boy’. I didn’t want to be seen as a girl for expressing myself, now as an adult, I reclaimed my fem side because it makes me happy.

But I haven’t changed, I like looking feminine not because I’m a woman, but because it makes me happy.

I’ve always had an overly large chest, which sadly developed from a young age. And no matter how I present myself, I’m only ever seen as a woman. I have severe chest dysphoria, I need top surgery so that my body can reflect how I see myself and how I feel inside.

I’ve mourned my childhood and early adult life because I didn’t get to authentically live as myself.

I need top surgery so I can finally start living as myself. Top surgery will be life saving gender affirming care for me.

I desperately want to live my life, not survive it.

All funds here will go towards my surgery and travel, I will be travelling to Sweden to have surgery as it is far cheaper to access than it is here in the UK. Anything extra will be saved for my HRT as I will have to access that privately as well, however my first priority is top surgery.
