We never believed in our wildest dreams we would reach this wonderful milestone.
We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. Demi, Pedro, Luca, Julius and Bianca are overwhelmed with the love, support and good wishes that have been received to date.
As we have successfully hit the first target covering the costs for the immediate surgery on Monday and hospital stay, we are now in a position to address further medical costs and incidentals that were not were not originally included. For this reason we have increased our target to $140,000 to include costs for ongoing rehabilitation costs, specialist charges, neuropsychology, medicine and flights to return home. The original target was only an estimate and we still have outstanding medical costs that have not been received.
I would like to assure everyone who has donated to Luca's fund that all medical outgoing costs are being tracked and monitored by myself and I have a created an invoice register and reconciliation and everything is being carefully tracked. Any excess funds raised will be donated to The Charlie Teo Foundation and other brain cancer and children’s cancer charities.

Luca Fric was diagnosed with a combination benign and malignant brain tumour and has undergone 4 rounds of chemotherapy and major brain surgery and has now exhausted all his treatment options at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
The difficult part of his treatment plan remains, which is complete surgical removal of the benign tumour which continues to grow rapidly. Professor Charlie Teo in Sydney has assessed Luca and has agreed to perform brain surgery to remove the tumour.
The surgery is planned to take place in Sydney on Monday 7th September (which is also Luca’s 15th birthday) and Luca will be required to stay in hospital for 2 months post-surgery for recovery and rehabilitation.
The out of pocket costs for the surgery and associated costs will be in the vicinity of $105,000.
We desperately need your help to get Luca to Sydney for this life saving surgery and are kindly asking for donations to pay for Luca’s medical expenses.
Break down of fees for brain surgery:
$45,000 - hospital fees – this money must be paid by Friday (4th September)
$60,000 – surgery performed by Professor Teo, anaesthetist, Intensive Care Unit, pathology, radiology and rehabilitation
How you can help and donate:
1. Go Fund Me – money can be donated via the attached Go Fund Me page. The administration of these donations will be managed by Betty Rovas who is Luca’s aunty and funds will be distributed to required medical expenses. If funds are raised in excess of what is required for Luca’s surgery and rehabilitation, any excess money will be donated to the Charlie Teo Foundation and other selected brain cancer and children's cancer charities.
2. Money can also be paid directly to Professor Teo’s office and their accountant will manage the funds to pay the medical expenses. Please message me if this is your preferred donation method for banking details.
As you can imagine this is an extremely difficult time for the family and we are doing everything we can alleviate the financial stress of the surgery.
