Donate to Lily's Life-Saving Stem Cell Transplant

Donation protected
Lily and Luke are my sister and brother. In late August, Lily, who is 15, started to not feel well. She was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia after a hospital stay where she received a bone marrow biopsy. This rare and life-threatening condition occurs when the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells, leading to fatigue, infections, and bleeding. It’s an overwhelming diagnosis, especially at a time when Lily should be focusing on her sophomore year. Lily had to be put on homebound from school and had to miss her JV season of volleyball since her blood levels and platelets were extremely low. She started her weekly visits to the Children's Blood and Cancer Center where she received either blood or platelets depending on her levels.

In October they decided that she needed a stem cell transplant. Our entire family was tested to see if we were donors, and Luke, who is 7, is her best match.

His donation day will be December 26th and her transplant day will be December 27th. Prior to this day, Lily will have to undergo a chemotherapy treatment to prepare her cells for the newly donated cells from Luke.

Because the chemo can cause infertility, she has undergone shots in order to freeze eggs for later in life. This has been an extremely overwhelming process for Lily to have to deal with at her age. Her egg retrieval day is scheduled for Monday, December 9th.

This Christmas holiday will not be typical for our family. Lily will be admitted to the hospital on December 17th and will stay until some time in January so we will all be apart for the holidays this year.

We are raising the money for our family to pay for the medical bills that include costs for Luke's donation and hospital stay, Lily's egg retrieval, stem cell transplant, hospital stay, and so much more.

I am asking for any help/assistance for my mom and family during this time. Everyone has had to take time off to help Lily with her appointments in addition to the financial burden of the medical bills that all of these procedures, tests, and hospital stay will incur.

Thank you for taking the time to read my sister's story and supporting our family.
