The Journey Continues: Honoring Maryann's Memory Together

Donation protected
April 5th, 2025: Less than five days after creating this Gofundme, we have an update that we thought we'd never have to share. Sometimes, even the strongest of soldiers are called home to receive their wings earlier than we expect. My aunt's cancer spread beyond what any of us could have imagined and she passed away with her daughter, Kendall, at her side on April 4th, just a month shy of her 61st birthday. Maryann was the youngest of her siblings, and now they have the heartbreaking duty of planning her funeral.

With this knowledge, we kindly and gratefully ask if you can continue to donate. The funds will be used for Maryann's funeral and to pay the rest of her bills. Although Maryann's battle with cancer has sadly ended, her legacy will leave on, and we will appreciate absolutely anything you can share.

For those of you who donated so far, you have absolutely no idea how it has touched our family. Thank you so much. We cannot tell you how much it means to us. We appreciate every single one of you.

My name is Lauren McClellan. My aunt Maryann is an extraordinary woman. She is a single mother who, even when her life is tough, always has a smile on her face. I often watch her laugh until she cries with my mom and see the joy on her face playing with her youngest nieces. She has a great sense of humor and truly appreciates everything life has to offer. She sincerely enjoys every minute of her days, and I cannot imagine a day without her. She is one of the absolutely strongest people I know.

But, unfortunately, times have changed. My aunt was diagnosed with uterine cancer six months ago. As a precaution, she went through a round of chemo and radiation to ensure that no cancer cells traveled to any other parts of her body. But, they did. And she fought. Two weeks ago she was ringing the radiation bell. But then, her life took yet another tragic turn. During a procedure to reduce some pain, she fell and hit her head. It was then that they discovered Maryann's cancer went to her brain. Today the oncologists developed a game plan in case she "forgets how to breathe". Never once did we think this vibrant, fun loving woman would be a shell of who she once was, but this is where we currently are.

We are relying on prayers and positivity so that she can withstand radiation, regain her strength to walk and begin a new "normal". There is a long journey ahead of her. Her fight has already caused her to miss so much work, which, as a single mother is detrimental. She needs money for her bills, so absolutely anything you can do will really help. On behalf of my entire family, we would appreciate every single donation, no matter the size. Thank you for taking the time to support someone who has given her life to others and never took a single second for granted.
