Meet Maude. Maude has clearly suffered and been through what we can only imagine was a literal living hell. Maude came from our rural shelter partner after a kind person saw her wandering down the road. It was very evident that Maude was dumped after being kept in what we can only imagine was an extremely small and confined space. Maude is a walking skeleton and covered in pressure sores with nails longer than the I can see. This girl should weigh close to 70 pounds and weighed 19 upon intake. She was quite literally hours away from death. Had she had not been saved, she would have suffered a horrible fate, alone. All we can do is thank the universe that she was found. We gave her the name Maude, as it means powerful battler- and this girl is fighting an unimaginable uphill battle-but she is ready to fight and continues to show us she has so much more life to live. Maude is only 1 years old and has no clue just how sweet things are about to get. Maude is currently recovering and will be putting weight on over the next several months. Follow along on Maude's journey as she continues to fight! Maude will need many visits with our vet to ensure she can become the healthiest and happiest version of herself. She will never know anything but love going forward. Right now she is in need of nice fluffy beds, high protein food and treats, and lots of toys!
