Hi! My name is Karina Hennessey and I’ve created this gofundme for my parents, Melinda and Randy Haley.

 

Randy has had at least eight strokes over the past few months and is now completely unable to work. He will never be able to work again. Mel and I have been busy accompanying him to numerous hospital visits, doctors’ offices, and now physical therapy so that he may learn how to function after going through several traumatic medical events due to his current condition. During this time, my mother was also hospitalized and needed care.

 

Randy was the main breadwinner and his loss of income has hurt them in so many ways - obviously financial but also mentally because of the emotional stress that follows such a large and sudden transition. He has spent their entire marriage doing his absolute best to ensure that Mel has a comfortable life and wants for nothing; he loved to take care of her. Now he is entirely dependent on his family. It has been very hard for them.

 

I feel very strongly that Randy and Mel are deserving of all of the help they can receive from their numerous friends and family. I have been so blessed to call them my parents and I am eternally grateful for everything they have done for me over the years. They truly are an example of a generous and loving couple. I couldn’t ask for better parents.
