Donate to Mike Sullivan's Memorial & Medical Expenses

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that one of the Chippewa Valley's most legendary voices has fallen silent. My father, Mike Sullivan, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21st, 2025, at River Pines Skilled Nursing & Long-Term Care in Altoona, WI: seventy days after being diagnosed with leukemia, and forty days short of his 76th birthday.

As devastated as we are, we take solace in knowing that he has exchanged the pain and suffering of this world for the peace and love of God in heaven.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 1st, at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 3735 Jeffers Road in Eau Claire. Visitation starts at 11 AM and the service begins at 1 PM.

Bills for his care and funeral are still a concern. My family and I cannot thank you all enough for your support through this incredibly difficult time. Your donations made it possible for him to spend his last days close to home, and for my mom and I to spend less time worrying about money and more time supporting him.

For over four decades, Dad's voice was a staple of the radio waves in western Wisconsin as he entertained commuters on the Z-100 morning show, reported the news, and painted vivid word pictures of thousands of local high school and college games. He was the voice of the UW-EC Blugolds, the North High Huskies, the Memorial High Old Abes, the Regis Ramblers, and so many other area teams. He did play-by-play for generations of local athletes playing hockey, basketball, football, and baseball. Dad approached every game he broadcast as if it was the most important one he ever covered, and he truly cared for all the players, coaches, officials, and families that he met along the way. Many of these friendships continued long after he hung up his microphone, and he was known throughout the Chippewa Valley for his sense of humor, compassion, and warm heart.

If his work brought you joy at any time through the years, please consider donating to help cover his last medical expenses and funeral arrangements.
